Learning piano with Konnie is both fun and fulfilling, and every effort is made to engage younger pupils and spark their interest in music.
Konnie
Konnie received her Certificate for Teaching the piano from HM King Charles III at the Royal Academy of Music in 2005. Konnie has been taught by famous composer John Kember who composed the book ‘Starting Out’ and Dr Koppell among others. Konnie attended the Master Class in 2004 and the adjudicator was Ruth Harte.
Konnie’s approach to teaching is to treat each pupil as an individual, each with their own musical interests and ambitions. Accordingly, Konnie uses a variety of teaching methods to suit each individual pupil.
Most opt for the traditional method of learning scales, theory and sight-reading with a view to achieving exam grades, though others prefer to start by learning contemporary pieces such as songs from musicals or from an artist the pupil likes.
For pupils who are more classically inclined, Konnie teaches the works of the masters; from Mozart to Chopin and through the classical eras from Baroque to Classical, to Romantic, right up to Modern.
